MERCEDES C-KLASSE ITC SILVERSTONE 1996 TEST CAR

Lots of Class!

Bernd Scheneider, after emphatic 1995 DTM championship, went on duty in Silverstone.
Almost identical to the race car, but without the main sponsor’s decals.

The Recaro goes one notch above with harness, drivers name and benz marking

MERCEDES 190E 2.5 16v EVO 1 DTM 1990 PRE-SEASON TEST CAR

The real Evo.

A nice clean bare finish instead of nicotine laced package, for a change

190 E 2.5-16 Evolution 1 was officially launched in Geneva Motorshow in March 1989.

A total of 502 EVO1 were produced to qualify for DTM.

The first one made to Mainz-Finthen airport circuit on 14 May 1989 and went literally flying.
In the hands of Roland Asch, EVO1 won the race on its debut.

In 1990, Mercedes enters 8 cars under 3 teams: AMG, Snobeck and MS-racing.
To fend off further challenges from Audi V8 4WD and 2.5L M3, Evo 2 was later introduced in the middle of 1990 season to replace this Evo.

One of the good references I have.
Complete with boxed rearwing and telemetry cables running into the car.

Was dumbfounded to learn that Minichamps did not provide rollcages.
Well, I find ways to create them.

McLAREN F1 GTR DAVIDOFF Cigarettes 1995 BPR ZHUHAI

All the sudden, I manage to find time these days.

Winning Le Mans on its first attempt is no fluke.

It is a testament its might.

Driven by Bscher, it flies to China in a different skin as oppose to the more common West scheme while racing in Europe.

But Davidoff cigarettes? They should taste as good as their perfume scents...

RENAULT 5 TURBO MARLBORO JOHN VOS EUROPA CUP 1982?

The one I am not very familiar with. Even decal package does not give clearer indication of which year is.

Renault 5 Europa Cup, as I heard has been first organized by Renault Netherlands. It was however, been held mainly in Zandvoort, Zolder and Nogaro.

Later, it spreaded to all over Europe in no time.

This car belongs to an unassuming John Vox, who is one of the regular participants.

FORD ESCORT RS COSWORTH 7UP CAMEL 1993 EL CORTE INGLES JOSE MARI PONCE

LPU 772, one of the earliest RS Cosworth that has been prepared by Belgian RAS Sports.

Intriguing livery which has been a perfect fit on Escort, as good as, if not better than those been conceptualized on M3 before.

The race was won by Gustavo Trelles in Charro Delta HF Integral though.

Reconstructed from IXO with decal from Spain, where else it could possibly be.

Photos don’t really do justice. My camera is an outlaw. Poor thing.

Couldn't believe it is already about 2 months into 2012. Football makes me forget all other things. More true if your team is winning big.

MUSTANG COBRA II ROUSH RACING MARLBORO 1995 DAYTONA

It has been awhile.

It’s a case of work too much and play as much.

Seldom we see anything like this American muscle plying its trade on the other side of Atlantic. I was happy to help my friend in Hong Kong to realize such a rare model.

This car finished fifth in GTS-1 Class and 16th. overall.

Prepared and tuned by Roush Racing team.

However, it was somewhat overshadowed by the class winner, Mustang Cobra’s Nobody’s Fool. Yes you guessed it, co-driven by its leading actor, Paul Newman.

The car 65 is a complete Puerto Rican team. It was officially driven by Wally Castro, Axel Rivera and Rolando Falgueras. Manolo Vila and Biagio Parisal were also listed to run.

Let’s have another look on Puerto Rico, or specifically San Juan.
Couldn’t be complete without mentioning about the recently completed Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic.

Bama emerged a worthy winner. Despite two recent losses, they can be good, who knows if they can even emulate their cousins' second chance story on the gridiron.
