PEUGEOT 205 T16 BELGA DARNICHE / MAHE 1985 YPRES RALLY

Done this car before and do it again this time.

This old Vittese has driver and co-pilot figures in it.

For a while it looks more like a slot car

TOYOTA CELICA GT-4 ST185 BELGA 1994 YPRES CHATROIT

One of my favorites, when it comes to rebuilding.
Fairly straightforward and less time consuming.

The only setback is R43 somehow misses out the white Belga on the nose.
Same goes with tire markings

AUDI QUATTRO BELGA 1985 SPA BJORN WALDEGAARD

Björn Waldegaard / Thorzelius - Audi Quattro A2 the winner of 1985 Boucles de Spa.

Marc Duez / Thimonier was second best in Mazda RX7 while Bernard Munster / Bozet  (Audi  Quattro) completed the podium.

Heard that the tail end of the rally was dramatic, filled with misfortunes, opportunistic breaks and eventful drives.

Waldegaard was struggling and stuck in a heavier than expected snow. Demuth, who was in the Societa Italiana Vetro Audi, led by a whopping 20 minutes only to be stopped by breakdowns.

Duez took over the lead until his Perilli repeatedly punctured.
When the dust settled, Waldegaard came home with a huge 6 minutes plus margin.

Pardon my pix, believe me the car is much better than it looks.

FORD ESCORT RS1800 MKII BELGA 1981 RALLYE HASPENGOUW DROOGMANS

I got few emails asking for more on conversion-made-easy.
For now, let's start with something simple.

Some pointers to convert the Escort RS1800 into the one that been driven by Droogmans in 1981 Rallye Haspengouw. The conversion is done based on Reji's 1981 Rallye Skoda decal, which to me is the more common in the market.

Of course you need to have two things first. A base car and that decal

Here are some reference photos

Best of luck

PORSCHE 911 BELGA SC RS Gr B DROOGMANS 1984 RALLY HASPENGOUW . ..

With help from a friend who provide me some customized decals, I manage to make a good use of this ordinary 911 model. Still not 100% complete as there are few things I need to finish off like black headlamp casing, front signals etc

RENAULT CLIO MAXI BELGA B. MUNSTER 1995 YPRES RALLY

The elusive Clio that I grab from Ebay. I choose this one for its base color. I don't need to remove the base color and do repainting. It saves me heck of a time. I just use paint thinner to strip the factory decals.

Notice that decal on the chassis are all gone. After finish stripteasing this beauty, I just retrofit the whole assembly. The rear wing has been sprayed, same goes with the wheels.
The fun part begin. I put it back on the plinth that I can't be touching the model too much during decalling. Bit by bit I work on the decals, I normally put the large ones first to set correct positioning
Really enjoy looking at this colorful Belga livery. The end product? I will try to post it later.
Later is now, and here is the end product.

PEUGEOT 205 T16 BELGA DARNICHE / MAHE 1985 YPRES RALLY

Manage the get the old beaten up Vitessse. Complete dismantling, repainting and here we are. That famous Peugeot 205 Belga as entered in 1985 Ypres Rally. Driven by B. Darniche. So lucky to have that crisp and sharp decal from Austria

Another Darniche's 205 I would love to have would be this one, which was entered in 1985 Tour De Corse
